Dear Neptune Families:

New Text Messaging System:

Due to multiple issues with Twitter notifications (like many not receiving text messages after signing up), we are moving to the Remind app for future notifications. We will use this for weather delays or cancellations in practices and meets, and other time-sensitive information.

To sign up for text messages, text @nfneptunes to 81010. You will then be prompted to respond with your name, and you’ll be signed up! A Remind app is also available, but you do not need it to receive text message notifications.

We will send a test message via Remind on Friday at 10:00 AM. If you have signed up and do not receive a text at that time, please let Tyler Wyllie know via email ([email protected]).

Twitter:

We may continue to use Twitter for more general updates on the team as it is a useful outward-facing app like Facebook (which is useful for connecting to other teams, NVSL, etc.). However, if you wish to remove Twitter notifications from your phone (if you still receive them), you can text UNFOLLOW nfstneptunes to 40404.

Swimtopia App:

There is also a Swimtopia app available (connected to our team website, run through Swimtopia). The app is primarily informational: it provides you with a list of your children’s recorded meet times, as well as events that they are signed up in the future for or volunteer shifts that you have already signed up for.

It does not, however, allow you to declare you swimmers available for meets or to actually sign up for volunteer positions. Those tasks must still be completed on the website.
