Dear Swim Team Families,

For those of you who previously purchased a pre-paid concession card, and recently received an email from Square titled “Your card has been linked by Newington Forest Swim Team,” this email will provide further explanation.

This season we have been slowly implementing Square’s Point of Sale (POS) system for our concession stand. No, we will not be accepting credit cards at the concession stand, but the Square POS app makes running and managing the concession stand a lot easier for the concessions manager, Ruth Hall, and the volunteers who are working at the concession stand. It also helps us track our pre-paid concession cards more efficiently. The Square POS tracks the price of each item, adds the total sales, and makes change, which simplifies the work of the volunteers. Further, the Square POS tracks inventory, manages the cash drawer, and now, allows us to automate our pre-paid concessions cards, so we can ditch the paper cards we have been using. YAY!!

The pre-paid concession card is now an eGift Card. When you purchase an eGift Card, we create and link the card to your customer account, so when you check out we can just use the gift card you have on file. You will receive an email when someone makes a purchase on your account detailing how much they spent, as well as, the balance remaining on the card. We can also check the balance on your card at the concession stand. You can add more money to your card at the concession stand in any amount between $15 and $100.

I hope this change makes things easier for our volunteers and a better experience for our customers. Please, be patient with us as with implement this change.
