Dear Minis Families,

Each family should have received an email with your Minis session assignment.  If you did not, please email Tyler Wyllie directly.

Thank you for your patience through the assessment process.  We are thrilled to have 50+ minis this year!  But with that, we needed to be thoughtful with the group assignments.  We want the kids to learn and grow this season, be safe, and also have fun!

If you still have questions about your session assignment, please reach out to Tyler Wyllie, Team Rep over email or in person tomorrow during the lessons.

We are also excited to have a great group of swim team members from our 13-18 year old group, which will be dedicated to helping the Minis this season (immediately following their 7-8am swim team practice)!  I will introduce them this week.

As we mentioned before, please have your Minis come ready to be in the water. Swim suits, goggles and towels.  We even swim in light rain.  Swim Team uses the Remind App for notifications on weather delays and/or cancellations in practices and meets, and other time-sensitive information. We strongly encourage ALL team members to sign up for this notification service.

INSTRUCTIONS:

• To sign up for text messages, text @nfneptunes to 81010
• You will then be prompted to respond with your name, and you’ll be signed up!
• A Remind app is also available, but you do not need it to receive text message notifications.

VERY IMPORTANT: 

• Please remember that for the duration of your child's swim lesson, we need a parent or guardian present at the pool at all times. This is for your child's safety.
• MINI Neptunes practice runs Monday-Friday (no practice on July 4) and will end on Friday, July 26th, though their official season ends at our END OF SEASON party on Saturday, July 27th. We hope you call can join us for awards and our team party!
• Mini swimmers and families are a part of the Neptune Swim Team family!! All families are invited to team social events, at or away from the pool. We also invite our MINIS to display what they are learning at a Lollipop Race at the beginning of each of our 5 HOME Swim meets.
  • B meets on Monday evenings: 6/24, 7/1.  Minis arrive at 6:00pm, swim the Lolipop race at 6:15pm, and our official "big kid" Neptunes swim meet begins promptly at 6:30pm.
  • A Meets on Saturday mornings: 7/6, 7/13, 7/20. Minis arrive at 8:40am, swim the Lolipop race at 8:50am, and our official "big kid" Neptunes swim meet begins promptly at 9:00m.

NOTE! Our first B Meet is at HOME, tomorrow, Monday, June 24th.

• I know this is also our first official day of practice but we would LOVE for the MINIS to join us by swimming across the deep end of the pool (with noodles, kickboards, and plenty of teenage swimmers to help). They will get a lollipop too! Please think about participating at the meets. It's a great way to get exposed to the swim meet environment.

Please do not hesitate to ask questions. We hope to accommodate everyone as best we can and cover anything you need to know for our upcoming season. Though during practice time, we ask that you speak to Tyler Wyllie (Team Rep) or Solana Higdon (Board President) or Mike Cabot (Board Vice President).  It is critical that Coach Craig use the practice time to focus on the kids' development and safety.
