IMPORTANT Details for Divisionals

LOCATION:  Lincolnia Park @ 6501 Montrose St. Alexandria, VA 22312

TEAM AREA #3:  In grassy area.  We are bringing 4 team popup tents, 3 folding benches, large gatorade water jug.  Swimmers should bring chairs or blankets/towels to sit on, sunblock, water, and healthy snacks.

PARKING:  Some parking is reserved for Officials and Workers - parking passes only.  Public parking is in grassy area behind pool.  Marshals will direct you, but please do not block other vehicles.  Lots of parking is also available at adjacent Holmes Middle School (walking path cuts through woods to pool).  Please do NOT block buses or park in restricted spaces at the school.  Lastly, NO STREET PARKING on MONTROSE ST!!  

Times listed below are to ensure swimmers do not miss events (most likely the events will be longer than our estimates).  PLEASE use the REMIND text alert system, as the best method of keeping you updated on the start and end times of each event.

• To sign up for text messages, text @nfneptunes to 81010.  You will then be prompted to respond with your name, and you’ll be signed up!  A Remind app is also available, but you do not need it to receive text message notifications.

ORDER OF EVENTS 

The meet is divided into two halves: 

1. Freestyle, Backstroke, and Breaststroke Events 
2. Butterfly and Individual Medley Events 

There will be a brief 10-minute break between each stroke, so swimmers may warm up in the competitive pool. There will be a longer 15 minute break between first and second half for the transition to a new set of officials, as well as presentations. 

ESTIMATED SCHEDULE (exact timing will be dictated by progress of events)

8:00 – 8:10am - Neptune Team Warm-Ups Begin 

• Lane 1, 2 and 3: Pinewood Lake 
• Lane 4, 5, and 6: Newington Forest 

8:10am - Freestyle Only Warm-Ups – lane assignments same as team warm-ups (Lane 3 - Newington Forest)  **Teams will always use their assigned lanes during any warm-up.

8:30am Freestyle Events - Meet Begins! 

9:15am Backstroke Warm-ups begin after Freestyle concludes (9:00 is the earliest) 

9:25am Backstroke Events Begin (no earlier than 9:10) 

10:10am Breaststroke Warm-ups begin. 

10:20am Breaststroke Events Begin (no earlier than 9:55) 

!! DURING BREAK - Presentation of Division Trophy and Sportsmanship Award (no earlier than 10:40)!!

10:55am Butterfly Warm-ups begin 

11:05am Butterfly Events Begin (no earlier than 11:00) 

11:40am IM Warm-ups begin after Butterfly concludes (11:35 is the earliest) 

11:55am IM Events Begin (no earlier than 11:40)
