Dear Neptune Families,

We are very excited to be holding our 6th Annual Swim-a-thon on Thursday, July 8th, during our practice times. ALL PARTICIPANTS will enjoy a pre-packaged muffin Breakfast poolside on the day of the event!

We need volunteers to count lengths. I know a lot of people have already reached their point requirement, however, volunteers are what makes the event successful. This is also a great chance for families who still need points to get them. https://nfstneptunes.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

Here’s how it works:

Before July 8th, each swimmer will ask friends, neighbors, and family members to sponsor them using our new online platform https://charity.pledgeit.org/NFST. 

Sponsors can pledge in two ways:

1. PER LENGTH (25 meters) and pay a set amount of money for each pool length that the swimmer finishes. Minis swim in the shallow end where two lengths equals 25 meters.*There is an error on our pledge site that will be corrected after the holiday that mistaken says 50 meter laps. It should say 25 meter lengths.

2. FLAT AMOUNT and pay that amount regardless of the number of pool lengths the swimmer completes.

The Swim-a-thon is a very exciting experience for our swimmers!

During the Swim-a-thon, swimmers will be assigned a lane. Swimmers are encouraged to swim as many laps as they can during their two hour time block.  They can rest in between laps. We will have 1 counter per lane to keep a tally of the pool lengths (25 meters) completed.

After the Swim-a-thon, volunteers will inform you how many lengths (25 meters) your child has completed and the information will be added to your pledgeit site. There will be prizes awarded for swimmers who swam 100 or more lengths (25 meters), the team and individual whom earned the most money, and variable prizes for the amount of money each swimmer raised. Donations must be turned in by Friday, July 23 (the day before Divisionals) in order to receive prizes.

Please collect all PLEDGES at practice by, Thursday, July 8th online https://charity.pledgeit.org/NFST. This is a fundraiser, but most importantly, we want it to be a fun and exciting time for our swimmers.

This is the team’s BIGGEST FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR, and it will allow us to purchase a NEW LANE LINE REEL! Our current lane line reel is too small and causes the bouys on the lane lines to break

It’s not too late - start collecting PER LENGTH (25 meters) pledges or FLAT FEE donations now! We are not using pledge forms this year. We have an online pledge site to collect donations and pledges. The new platform allows you to send emails to family and friends and post on social media. https://charity.pledgeit.org/NFST

You can create individual pages for your swimmer and families can create a team for all of your swimmers. You can change the default words and images and set a personal goal for your swimmer. *Please note there is an error on the site that says we count 50 meter laps - we count 25 meter lengths.* The site will be corrected after the holiday by the company. See how many lengths (25 meters) you can swim while earning money for your team and earn the chance to win great prizes for your efforts!
